I was commissioned by Tangent Graphic to create the illustrations for Eden Mill's Heritage and Premium gin collection.

FORBIDDEN
'Inspired by the fruit of the tree of knowledge in the Garden of Eden, Forbidden Gin’s story invokes the mystery, long debated by biblical historians, of the fruit that Eve plucked: was it an apple, or a quince?
At first glance, this illustration appears to be a simple burst of foliage, but with a closer look, and keen eyes, the mystery comes to life, with a skull to emphasise danger, the persuasive serpent twined around the branches and the hands, which emerge through the leaves to offer you this most forbidden of fruits…'
FORAGER
'Hedgerows are like tiny forests, providing food and shelter for countless species. They are their own complete ecosystems, with animals and plants relying on each other - it’s a world in itself, hidden from the outside. Hedgerows are under threat, however, and are being destroyed at an increasingly alarming rate. Our Forager Gin is made with berries you can find in Scottish hedgerows in the hopes of retaining them for generations to come.'
ROSA ROSA
'With it’s name deriving from the latin roots of the two main botanicals: rosehip and rose petals, the story of Rosa Rosa Gin invites you to join us for the next chapter within the secret rose garden of Love Gin. Eden Mill are inviting you to step into our garden, were dogs never bite, roses ramble and cherry trees bloom all year round and relax with a faithful friend and Rosa Rosa Gin.'
PASSION
'Our hot-blooded marriage of sweet and bitter botanicals is a love letter to tragic Shakespearean romance. Whether it’s a lustrous fairyland or a catastrophic courtship, this gin is as bittersweet and memorable as only the greatest love affairs can be. As the bard himself probably said, “If gin be the drink of love, pour on.”'
RED SNAPPER
'Rather than focus on this as simply a cocktail ingredient, this illustration dives into the rich history of Bloody Mary and her familial rival Elizabeth; playing with the legend of their rivalry and the narrative of ‘the cooler sister’. Elizabeth was brilliant, tactical and the height of elegance, while Mary was pampered and romantic, but reckless...
The illustration sees the two princesses back to back, side-eyeing each other, and the initials on their necklaces add another layer, reading E and M - pinpointing who’s who, but also adding a reference to Eden Mill!'
SERENDIPITY
'St. Thomas Aquinas prayed for inspiration as he walked into the countryside, and then made a drink with the first plants he found. This special concoction of dandelion and burdock created a moment of serendipity.
The illustration captures this moment of serendipity and showcases the key botanicals against a backdrop of this ancient philosopher brewing himself a potion with his foraged herbs.'
LOVE
'Within this illustration, you can discover our 'secret garden' - a quiet, private place where roses ramble freely. Roses are symbolic of beauty, love, mystery, innocence and passion that we believe are attributes to our classic Love Gin.
Let the white lady of St. Andrews lead you by the hand and discover her tale of love and heartbreak within our secret rose garden.'
